Shopify Enhances Authentication for a Smoother Checkout Experience

Shopify has recently upgraded its authentication features to streamline the checkout process for customers. Now, verified customers can breeze through checkout without the need for repeated authentication, ensuring a seamless shopping journey from selection to purchase.

To enable this feature, merchants are required to add a customer access token to the "Buyer Identity" in the Storefront API cart and include the buyer's IP address when initiating server-side requests. Additionally, Shopify recommends setting the checkout link to be sent only when the customer is ready to proceed to checkout, enhancing transaction security. If the link expires, the system supports resending it.

This update not only simplifies the checkout process but also maintains high security standards, making online shopping more efficient and secure for both customers and merchants.
